Mirissa Beach

Mirissa Beach is one of the quietest and beautiful beach hideaways on the southern coast of Sri Lanka. Crystal-clear waters, soft sand palm trees lining the outskirts make it an incredible spot to spend an amazing beachside holiday. This beach has found extra popularity as a whale watching hotspot too. If you can spare extra time here, consider climbing the Parrot Rock which is located on the far side of the beach.

Bentota Beach

Located 62 km south of Colombo, the charming Bentota Beach is one of the magnificent stretches of beach on the west coast. It’s tastefully located close to some of the country’s top-end luxury hotels. For a good dose of sun, sand and swim that come over during October to April, do consider checking into a resort in Bentota the likes of AVANI Bentota Resort & Spa, to enjoy some of the exciting watersport activities.

Arugam Bay

The wide sweeping sandy beach of Arugam Bay attracts many tourists from all around the world for surfing and swimming. If you are not up to catching the waves, wake up early in the morning to catch a glimpse of the beautiful sunrise. Capture that perfect Instagram worthy scenery!

Nilaveli Beach

Located on the east coast of the island, Nilaveli beach has a unique feeling of paradise-island remoteness. It is about 4km long and there are many modest resorts dotted along the shore. Soothe your feet with powdery white coral sand!
