Known for its nightlife and beaches, Koh Samui is one of the most popular destinations in Thailand. Most people come here to party, and it’s a great spot for it – but the island has a quiet side too. There are hidden beaches that not many seem to know about, and they’re perfect for those who want to relax.

Samrong Beach & Thongson Bay
Located in the north of the island, these two beaches are close to each other. Calm and peaceful, they’re ideal for a swim and just relaxing by the water. The best part is that it’s all surrounded by nature, so there’s a nice balance of coast and greenery.
Silver Beach
Also called Crystal Bay, this small beach is located between Lamai and Chaweng. It features soft white sand and clear, shallow water. Get down here to enjoy snorkelling and watch the sunset. Silver Beach is no more than 20 minutes from SAii Koh Samui Villas, a popular five-star Chaweng Beach hotel.
Thong Krut Beach
A quiet fishing village in the south, Thong Krut Beach isn’t for swimming, but it’s the best for long beach walks. You can also take a boat trip and experience local life. There are several small seafood spots, too, so stop by for a delicious seafood meal.
Laem Yai
Located on the north-west coast, Laem Yai isn’t very developed, which is part of the appeal. Come here to watch a beautiful sunset; you can do it in peace, as the beach is almost always empty.
