Most people know Koh Phangan for its Full Moon Party. But the party happens on just one beach, a few nights a month. The rest of the island is green, calm, and full of beautiful places that many visitors never see.
Beaches Away From the Crowds
Koh Phangan has plenty of quiet beaches, especially in the north and east. Bottle Beach and Thong Nai Pan are good examples. The water is clear, the sand is soft, and the vibe is laid-back. These beaches feel a long way from the busy south of the island.
Where to Stay in Koh Phangan

A beach resort in Koh Phangan on the quieter side of the island lets you enjoy calm mornings and peaceful evenings. There are many options for you to choose from, including Anantara Rasananda Koh Phangan, which sits on Thong Nai Pan Noi beach, with private pool villas.
Waterfalls and Jungle Walks
The inside of the island is covered in jungle, with hiking trails and waterfalls to explore. Than Sadet Waterfall is one of the best known and a lovely spot for a cool swim on a hot day. Wear good shoes, as some paths can be steep and rocky.
Day Trips by Boat
Koh Phangan is also a great base for boat trips. Ang Thong Marine Park, with its limestone islands and green lagoons, makes a wonderful day out. Snorkelling trips around nearby islands are another easy way to enjoy the sea. Spend a few days exploring like this, and you’ll see a very different side of Koh Phangan, one that has nothing to do with parties.
