Pasikuda on the east coast of Sri Lanka is blessed with golden beaches and tranquil seas. Located in the district of Batticaloa the nearest big city to Pasikuda is Batticaloa. Pasikuda is now a hub of the leisure trade with many hotels and resorts dotting the sea front. The nearest city, Batticaloa, still retains a mingling of Portuguese and Dutch cultures. Three tropical lagoons are there to be explored and enjoyed – Batticaloa, Valachchenai and Vakaria. The famed singing fish of Batticaloa are supposed to sing in the Kallady lagoon on moonlit nights! The Buffalo and Bone islands and the Lady Manning Bridge are also worth a visit.
Trincomalee with its natural harbor, Fort Frederick, Dutch Bay, Kovils (Hindu temples) and Pigeon Island is within easy reach of Pasikuda. This is a popular place for whale watching too.
The historic city of Polonnaruwa in the North Central Province of Sri Lanka is approximately 70 km meters away from Pasikuda and can be reached in a little over 01 hours time. The giant reservoir Parakrama Samudraya (Sea of Parakrama), the many temples and ruins will fascinate visitors.
Pasikuda Beach is not only a beach to enjoy it is a base for many other fun filled excursions too.
